Day 34. Jack plays in the sandbox for the first time and is able to reach and grasp the shovel for a minute before dropping it!

Day 33. Jack is getting more smiley every day, eating more and begins to reach for more things. His motor skills seem to be improving as he reaches for and plays with some smoothie on his ergo chair tray.

Day 32. Jack’s therapists comment on the improvements they’ve noticed, he starts making some new sounds and I give an overview of where he is at compared to a baseline I created a week prior.

Day 31.

Day 31. Jack’s aunt arrives in town, he is vocalizing more although they are kind of high-pitched sounds, and he rolls from his back to stomach for the first time since waking up.

Day 30.

Day 30. Jack gets his mojo back. Therapies are more successful using play-based therapy and in a therapy room instead of his and he’s starting to attract the Omas’ attentions around the rehab facility. That’s his jam. And we played with bunnies. So there’s that.

Day 29.

Day 29. Jack’s a mama’s boy today so we survive with a lotta’ coffee and the carrier. He has a great OT session learning to eat again, but the other 3 therapies are a bust. He’s cranky and not interested in therapy. At all.

Day 28. Jack has an off day today. Both therapy sessions don’t go well and he manages to pull his NG tube out twice! Putting it back in is pretty near torture for the poor guy.
