Day 46. Despite not sleeping well, Jack still has two good therapy sessions. That alone shows the distance he’s come.

Day 43. It was a big day. Great physio session rolling on his own, followed by an important meeting with a team of doctors regarding Jack’s genetic results and therapeutic plan, and an OT session trying out some solids and drinking again.

Day 37. Jack steps up to bat as he always does and wakes up in the greatest mood. He has another EEG, a good physio session and is increasingly vocal.

Day 36. Jack wakes up cranky and it hits me hard. Jack was always the happiest little kid and his fussiness makes me miss him and his personality so much.

Day 35.

Day 35. I feel homesick and impatient for Jack to make a faster recovery. But, he continues to reach for things, become more vocal and manages to turn the pages of his bedtime books.

Day 32. Jack’s therapists comment on the improvements they’ve noticed, he starts making some new sounds and I give an overview of where he is at compared to a baseline I created a week prior.

Day 28.

Day 28. Jack has an off day today. Both therapy sessions don’t go well and he manages to pull his NG tube out twice! Putting it back in is pretty near torture for the poor guy.
